The moment of quality expresses itself in a pleasure that grows in waiting

The moment of quality expresses itself in a pleasure that grows in waiting, as the wine earns its return on patience. But the moment of enjoyment – the moment that a bottle is opened – is a moment in which yesterday and today unite as one.

Each year, we have chosen to put aside a small part of our production of the wines based in Nebbiolo - a few bottles of Cannubi Boschis, Le Vigne and Valmaggiore. To these we dedicate a longer ageing: 10 years past the vintage for the Barolo and 6 years for the Valmaggiore. We hold these in our wine library, where they are held in perfect conditions for resting, refining and the slow march toward maturity. Our seal on the labels identifies these specific bottles and their path which began under the ground in our cellars. sibi et paucis represents the passing of the days, the art of waiting and the pleasure of the past made present: an intuition that reflects the cycles of humanity and of wine. Everything flows. Patience is fluid and harmonious; its result transforms and arrives in new forms.

The turning of the seasons, the changing of the weather and the variations of sun and moon are a virtuous circle for those attuned to their tempos. All of us live waiting, and waiting is a precious and essential ingredient between that which was and that which is. We waited for ourselves and for a few: sibi et paucis.

sibi et paucis is neither a selection, nor a "Riserva". sibi et paucis was born of an intuition, which grew into an idea that found its resolution by following the slow rhythms of nature, in both the vineyards and the cellar, for that which improves with age. sibi et paucis is the desire to free Nebbiolo's innate resistance to time. sibi et paucis is the result of the care we take with our wines as these privileged bottles mature in our cellar.

Cannubi Boschis Barolo
Experience grows and is brought to fulfilment

From the heart of Barolo. From the village of Barolo the sinuous Cannubi hill stretches northwards, with vineyards on the east and west sides. From a part of the hill, historically called Cannubi Boschis, this Barolo is born, which brilliantly displays Nebbiolo's regal character. The site possesses a marl and moderately compact soil with a microclimate that every year surprises for the transparency of its expression.

Fruit of Experience. In the hierarchy of Barolo, Cannubi Boschis is precious. We have cultivated it and proudly made its wines since 1985; with the certainty of its unique and extraordinary productive potential.

Le Vigne Barolo
As it once was

Ancient art. Barolo Le Vigne represents our interpretation of the tradition of the Langhe and Barolo: that of the ancient and skillful art of blending Nebbiolo from several vineyards. We have taken up this historical custom working only with indigenous yeasts and keeping the grapes separate until the final assembly and blending, instead of mixing them during the fermentation phase.

A perfect diagonal. We meticulously chose four vineyards to highlight the characteristics of the Barolo area. Their different terrains at various altitudes and exposures contribute to the great complexity of our Barolo Le Vigne.

Every year a new discovery. Harvested, vinified and aged separately, the final blend of each vintage combines the constituent parts to best express the particular character of each vineyard and enhance the uniqueness of each year.

Valmaggiore Nebbiolo d'Alba
A heroic interpretation of Nebbiolo

An amphitheater in the Roero district. Already in the nineteenth century, the Nebbiolo grapes grown in the
Valmaggiore vineyard were so highly regarded that they dictated the price for the entire territory. In the 1990s Luciano, Luca and Barbara fell in love at first sight with Valmaggiore. This was not only for the history and the long viticultural tradition, but also for the uniqueness of those sandy soils combined with the microclimate.

Nature is rich and vigorous in Roero, the ground is soft and sandy, the slopes extremely steep and the shape is perfect: our Valmaggiore is a natural amphitheater facing the south, with full exposure to the sun. Already in the planting of the vineyard, the respect for nature and traditions were strategic. This respect is present every day: we cultivate by hand, row by row, and we harvest only the ripest grapes.

The Nebbiolo in Roero is distinguished for its finesse and elegance and we, like those in the past who were also proud and convinced, wish that our Valmaggiore wine expresses all the grace and refinement of Nebbiolo.
